Today, the City and County of Pueblo announced a public-private partnership called PuebloShares. In 2020, the partnership will promote the greater Pueblo region to citizens, visitors, investors, businesses and new residents through a collection of shared and new assets. These assets will be available to the community through a new online platform.
The PuebloShares library consists of shared photo, video and story content that citizens can download and use for personal or commercial purposes to showcase the amenities, people, and culture of the region. In addition, anyone wishing to include their own images or videos reflecting the positive nature of the community are invited to upload their own content to the platform.
“Pueblo has a great story to tell. By engaging our citizens and organizations with relevant and up-to-date content, we can continue to share our successes with the world,” commented Pueblo Mayor Nick Gradisar.
The collaboration grants access to current image and video collections, as well as, new opportunities to grow the asset library. In addition, the partnership provides funding to create and maintain a sharable content platform, continued support of current assets like ChoosePueblo.com, and various media buys and advertising to help spread the community’s positive stories to key audiences.
“We are excited to invest in fresh local content that our entire community can benefit from,” remarked County Commissioner Garrison Ortiz. “Sharing our stories helps residents and organizations become advocates that will continue to grow our community and build awareness to those looking to make Pueblo their home.”
PuebloShares’ members include the City and County of Pueblo, the region’s three chambers, leading education organizations, economic development leaders and community organizations.
Leading the management of the shared business model are local communication strategists, Nicki Hart, Timothy Zercher, and Lori Lovato.
“We chose these professionals because of their ability to understand sharable systems and their current work promoting the greater Pueblo region,” added Ortiz.
The team is currently collecting, organizing and implementing the platform that will house the shareable media. The library’s public launch is expected in about 30 days and will be available at puebloshares.com. Once launched the public can upload their own photos, videos, and stories. Local presentations will be made outlining library use and best practices for file naming and public implementation.
